Shimano STEPS DU-E8000 Drive Unit - 20 mph Black. The Shimano STEPS DU-E8000 Drive Unit is a compact drive unit designed for MTB riding styles. Lighter than the E6002 drive unit the E8000 has a short rear center in order to increase clearance for suspension and large tires.

Its compact size allows for a shorter chain stay and more clearance with the suspension and tire
